Being a coffee snob and a 1st time roaster, I was nervous as to what beans to order. I was very pleased with these beans...roasted nicely and could be roasted quite dark yet not get bitter. Tasted great...gave some to a neighbor and she told me I should open a coffee shop she liked them so much :)

Indian monsooned Malabar is a bean that has been dryed after the monsoons. It is a pale bean with little chaff after it roasts. This is helpful for home roasters that can overload with chaff and catch fire. Give it a medium roast--nice and brown, but no black spots. The flavor is very smooth. I find it an easy coffee to roast well; a nice one for beginners.

India monsooned Malabar produces the most consistently good coffee flavor I have found for home roasting. Either alone or in home-generated blends, it produces outstanding results. I prefer dark roast, probably at least full-city +, so my opinion may be tempered by this preference.I have used this particular variety now for a couple of years and I'm glad to find it on Amazon.G.
