I am a really big fan of the Barista Prima Coffeehouse K-Cups that have caffeine. But, I'm getting to a point in my life where I can't drink as much caffeine as I used to drink. So, when I saw that I could also get the Italian Roast without the caffeine, I jumped at the chance. Sadly, the decaffeinated version of this great coffee doesn't live up to the regular version.Believe me; I really, really want to like this coffee. The smell of the regular Barista Prima K-Cups when they are brewing are out of this world! You can hardly wait to bury your nose into that hot cup of superb coffee to savor the aroma, grabbing the cup as soon as the last drop has fallen from the funnel of your Keurig. But, the bitter aftertaste present in the decaf Italian Roast makes it hard to drink once you have tasted the regular Italian Roast. I have heard that getting the bitter taste out of decaf is a challenge for coffee companies, and I really hope that Barista Prima Coffeehouse figures it out because their regular coffees are so outstanding. I would love to start my day drinking a cup or two with caffeine, then switch to decaf without sacrificing any flavor.
