As I am brazilian I love a strong and hot cup of coffee in the morning. And that was the best one I ever had. The first time I had I was in Brazil and since then when I come back I always bring a lot of it with me so I never run out of it. But the last five months my husband decided to have coffee everyday too so I saw my stock of coffee running out too quickly. I search at Amazon and I found it at a good price. I also search for Cafe Pilao decaf but I didn't find at Amazon. I bought in another website.Pros: Good flavor without the bitterness.Cons: None

I'm Brazilian, I've consumed this brand my whole life and I'm very picky when it comes to coffee. I've been in US for 6 months and I just can't enjoy the regular coffee sold on supermarkets, here. I've ordered a pack of Melitta Extra Forte, and the date of manufacture is March 2012. Almost an year ago. When I've opened the package, I couldn't feel the smell I was dreaming for since I've purchased it. I think I have the right to be frustrated, because I've payed the equivalent of 10 times the original price it is sold in Brazil. Ten times the original price. So, it is supposed to be a jewel, isn't it? And it is. Brazilian coffee is the best in the world, indeed. So, I wasn't waiting for an old nasty product that, although can be sold until September 2013, is not faithful to its properties anymore. It has to be fresh, please, please, please. And by fresh I mean opening the package after one and up to two or three months of its release, considering it has to travel overseas and all this logistics has my comprehension. In this conditions, I'll have to accept the US coffee and forget about the Brazilian gold. Unless there's a way I can contact the seller in advance and figure out the date of manufacture before I place my order, because 'best if used by' does not apply to Brazilian coffee. I think it is not too much I'm asking for, as a customer, especially because we are talking about perishables. Thank you.
